James Robertson — Head of Operations and Fundraising

James brings over twenty years of experience working in wellbeing, neurodiversity and inclusion, alongside a background in applied psychology. His work has always focused on creating environments where neurodivergent people are understood, supported and able to thrive.

He has held senior leadership roles within neurodiversity and DE&I consultancies, working with businesses, government, the NHS and charities to design more inclusive ways of working and living. James is particularly skilled at turning good ideas into practical, fundable services that make a real difference in people’s everyday lives.

James was also Campaign Director for Neurodiversity Celebration Week, where he helped grow the campaign from a small UK initiative into a global movement reaching people in over 100 countries. At the heart of this work was a belief that change happens when people feel seen, valued and included.

As a neurodivergent person himself, James understands first-hand the challenges many adults face in accessing support, particularly in the workplace. This lived experience shapes his commitment to creating support that is respectful, practical and designed with people, not imposed on them.

At EQOL, James focuses on building services that genuinely support neurodivergent adults to live fuller, more connected and more independent lives, and on securing the partnerships and funding needed to make those services sustainable and accessible
